The Zero Emission Transportation Association (ZETA) is a coalition of 65 member companies that are all dedicated to achieving 100% electric vehicle (EV) sales by 2030. Including representatives from across the EV supply chain, ZETA advocated vigorously for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which made a historic investment in electrifying the transportation sector by facilitating the development of a national EV charging network, helping to transition our diesel-powered school buses to zero-emission models, and strengthening our supply chains for EV batteries and critical minerals. In addition to engaging in hundreds of meetings with congressional staff, ZETA published expert policy analysis, engaged closely with coalition partners, regularly briefed the news media, and launched paid digital ad campaigns to galvanize support for the bill. ZETA also advocated for—and continues to ardently support—the EV provisions in the Build Back Better Act (BBBA), which would drive both EV consumer adoption and fleet electrification.

ZETA will spend much of 2022 engaging with the U.S. Department of Transportation, community partners, EV charging companies, utilities, and other EV stakeholders to inform the federal rulemaking processes for creating a reliable and equitable national EV charging network—and to encourage the widespread electrification of the transportation system. As this guidance is finalized, ZETA will play a major role in educating the public—including state and local transportation officials—about how to take advantage of the bill’s funding. ZETA will also continue working with Congress to pass the BBBA’s EV provisions into law, which will fight climate change, improve public health, and support local economies and workers across the country.
