Virginia Clean Cities led site work for an initial statewide network of 30 DC Fast Chargers, and supported hundreds of level two destination chargers. VCC responded to FHWA corridor program by collaboratively drafting Virginia’s initial 2016 corridor response and built out further infrastructure to allow updated 2021 responses to highway corridors completing initial highway electric travel corridors. VCC also prepared for electric medium-duty vehicles supporting school districts and ports and launched Drive Electric Virginia, a consumer and policymaker statewide collaborative, and also launched and leads the Virginia Energy Office’s Mid Atlantic Electrification Partnership set to site and deploy 400 chargers and 175 vehicles and to educate diverse communities for EVs for all people.
