Lucid Motor’s mission is to inspire the adoption of sustainable energy by creating the most captivating electric vehicles, centered around the human experience. Our first car, the Lucid Air, is an award-winning, state-of-the-art sedan with a California design underpinned by race-proven technology. From developing and manufacturing Lucid’s core technology to designing and building its vehicles, Lucid is committed to creating good-paying, high-skilled jobs in the United States. We built North America’s first greenfield – or purpose-built – electric vehicle factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, and after production started last year, our cars are driving on roads across the country.

To be an industry leader, we developed a game-changing new system, called the Wunderbox, to revolutionize the charging experience. The Wunderbox has ultra-high voltage 900V+ electrical architecture that allows it to deliver the world's fastest and efficient charging. Lucid drivers can benefit from charging at 350kW capable stations, adding 300 miles of range to their battery in just over 20 minutes using the non-proprietary CCS plug.

This is an exciting moment for our country. We applaud President Biden’s ambitious commitments to electrification, including the goal that 50% of all new cars and trucks sold in the United States be EVs or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles by 2030 and the deployment of 500,000 new electric vehicle chargers. The $7.5 billion for electric vehicle charging infrastructure included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act are another incredible opportunity. These steps will push the U.S. automobile market towards faster electrification, and we pledge to do more to make electrification reach its potential, faster.

Like NEVCI, we believe the full potential of vehicle electrification can only be reached when everyone has access to interoperable and bidirectional charging. That’s why we designed our charging system to be future ready: Lucid vehicles come hardware-ready for bidirectional charging - to send electricity between vehicles, to a home/building, or back to the grid, and we are ready to work with others to deploy this technology. Today, Lucid commits to invest in and work towards common industry standards and policy solutions that will allow the mass adoption of interoperable and bidirectional charging on multiple platforms.
