Brian Wolff | Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Vice President, Public Policy and External Affairs, Edison Electric Institute (EEI)

Brian L. Wolff is Executive Vice President, Public Policy and External Affairs at Edison Electric Institute (EEI), and is responsible for managing the Government Relations, Customer Solutions, Political and External Affairs, and Communications departments for the Institute. These groups are responsible for and integrate EEI’s direct lobbying, grassroots outreach, coalition building, and strategic communications functions. Mr. Wolff’s role is critical in strengthening the issue management process and advocacy efforts of EEI to meet the growing opportunities facing the electric power industry. Mr. Wolff is also the Executive Vice President of the Edison Foundation.

Prior to joining EEI in 2009, Mr. Wolff was a strategist for the U.S. House of Representatives and served under Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Robert T. Matsui (D-CA), Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). He also served as finance and taxation legislative aide to former Senator David H. Pryor (D-AR). Prior to his work on Capitol Hill, he worked in business development at Cassidy & Associates and as an advisor to countless state and federal campaigns. He began his career in Washington as a producer and copy editor for the Washington Bureau of Cable News Network (CNN).

Mr. Wolff is an Arkansas native. He earned a BA from the University of Arkansas with a major in Economics and a minor in Journalism. In addition, he completed the Mastering Negotiations Program in Executive Education at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government. He also completed the Senior Executive Program from Stanford University, Graduate School of Business in 2014 and Stanford University’s LEAD Program in 2017. He is currently a Guest lecturer at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He is a 2018 Presidential Leadership Scholar.

He is a Certified Association Executive and was named one of CEO Update’s Top Lobbyists, The Hill’s Top Lobbyists, and Association TRENDS Lobbyist of the Year. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, and the Public Affairs Institute Board of Directors. Mr. Wolff serves as Co- Chair of the Stanford Professionals in Energy alumni group. In addition, he serves on the University of Arkansas Alumni Board and is a member of the Chancellor’s Society. Mr. Wolff serves on the boards of the Capital Area REACH program and on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Institute. In 2020, Mr. Wolff began serving as an Equity in Energy Ambassador with the Department of Energy.
