AmeriCrew's Commitment to EV Industry Workforce Development

Congress made history last year when they passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, otherwise known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This bill represents the largest public investment in clean energy transportation in American History. Combined with the additional funding being allocated by states and private companies, this industry is positioned for rapid growth.

At AmeriCrew, we believe that investing our time and effort into upgrading the critical infrastructure in our country is urgent.  This historic rebuilding of infrastructure provides the opportunity for veterans to have careers - not just jobs. That’s why AmeriCrew has pledged to help train over 200+ veterans into new careers including planning, installing and supporting the EV charging industry starting in 2022.

We will use our transformative E3 (Engage, Educate and Employ) workforce development model to achieve this goal. We have proven our model in the telecommunications industry by training veterans into careers doing site acquisition, GIS mapping, design and planning, installation, and operations and support. These are skills we know will be crucial to the building of EV charging infrastructure as well. The President has set an ambitious goal to deploy 500,000 charging stations by 2030. This will create a demand for talent for many years. Americrew is developing the necessary workforce development programs with our education and hiring partners to help fulfill this need.

Our experience deploying telecommunications infrastructure to underserved rural and urban communities has given us an understanding of the challenges of reaching historically underserved communities. Experience which we are eager to bring to the effort of building EV charging infrastructure.

We are very excited and grateful to be able to share our commitment at this summit and are looking forward to building the electric future together!
