Advanced Energy Economy is a business association representing the entire advanced energy industry, advocating for 100% clean energy and electrified transportation. Because AEE represents the full suite of clean technologies (utility scale renewable energy, distributed energy resources, demand side resources, electric vehicles and infrastructure, battery storage), its membership profile uniquely positions it to build coalitions across the clean energy economy in support of electrifying the transportation system. 

AEE has established itself as a leading voice on comprehensive energy policy. We work with a broad membership coalition that includes vehicle manufacturers that produce light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, charging infrastructure providers, vehicle fleet operators, and firms providing supportive technologies and services to electrify transportation. Last year we published two studies on transportation electrification and its impacts on the entire clean energy economy through our groundbreaking economic analysis on the EV supply chain and the economic impacts of policy investments in the sector. We also led the coalition that prompted Governor Newsom’s Executive Order committing California to 100% zero emissions vehicles by 2035, and helped pass infrastructure deployment legislation across a variety of states including Colorado, Illinois, and Nevada. 

AEE’s transportation work is built around our core strength: influencing key decision makers to support the advanced transportation economy and building coalitions to pass and then implement those policies. Our ultimate goal is to help policymakers understand both the urgency and opportunity with transportation electrification and to support leading edge and comprehensive public policy to achieve a smooth transition.
